PFAS is actively recruiting for the following positions:

Experienced Fire Alarm Technician

  • Position responsibilities:
    • Install, repair and/or replace fire alarm systems and related equipment
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with a variety of life safety and building management systems
    • Install electrical system components as assigned (panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations detectors, etc.)
    • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications
  • Qualifications:
    • NICET certified, highly preferred
    • Prior alarm experience, minimum of 5 years (10 years preferred)
    • Strong knowledge of current state and local regulations and codes
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Exceptional customer service and relationship skills
    • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly (climb ladders, operate lifts, sit, stand, bend, kneel, visual acuity and manual dexterity)


  • Position responsibilities:
    • Inspect fire alarm systems for new and established customers on a scheduled basis
    • Ensure systems are to prescribed standards
    • Identify code and non-conformance issues and prepare accurate and timely reports
    • Respond timely to customer inquiries
    • Travel is 20% of the position
  • Qualifications:
    • Basic Knowledge of electricity and electronics
    • Familiarity with basic hand tools
    • Extreme attention to details
    • Effective communicator (listening skills, presentation skills, ability to build relationships and interpret a variety of instructions)
    • Ability to problem solve rationally and with common sense
    • Must be able to lift 40 lbs and use ladders or lifts for testing


PFAS (Professional Fire Alarm Systems) is a Kansas owned and operated business providing testing, inspection and service for a wide variety and types of existing firm alarm and building systems. PFAS is an Integrator Level Dealer for Notifier, FireNET by Hochicki and Harrington.
